With spring in the air and flowers in bloom a refreshing cocktail at the end of a long week sounds like just what the doctor ordered. This weekend we are heading to a party where each couple is responsible for designing a custom cocktail and the birthday girl will select the winner so it has my wheels turning on what we should make! I believe a cocktail should be simple and seasonal: warming in the winter, botanical in the spring time, refreshing in the summer... you get the idea. Being from a mostly wine loving family I have very limited experience in the craft of cocktail mixing. My hunt for a recipe adapt has me wishing I had a better glassware collection there are so many beautiful concoctions to try!
Rhubarb and Rose Ramos Gin Fizz: Not so simple but oh so pretty...
Gin Gimlet with Basil Simple Syrup: Refreshing and straightforward- a perfect excuse to use that early spring basil!
The Ramson (a take on the gibson): A sake cocktail with dry vermouth and a dash of pickling liquid from pickled ramps? The sour loving side of me must try this!
Fish House Punch: A classic easy to make ahead cocktail for party hosting
Coconut, Cucumber, Lime, and Mint Cooler: This ultra hydrating and very refreshing beverage is perfect for those warmer days and nights
