Welcome to the next post on The Uniform! I am so excited for this post because it comes from my very stylish friend- Liz Corbett! (you may recognize her name from this post) With over 8 years in the fashion biz Liz has always had her finger on the pulse of the latest trends and how to translate them into everyday classic wear. She is one of those people that makes amazing investments in high quality pieces but also knows how to find accessible solutions to new trends. Readers tip: all items are linked via picture and caption below! Without further ado, the style profile of the lovely Liz:
Lately I am all about looking and feeling relaxed with classic cool accessories mixed in. Although I was slow to embrace the athleisure trend I am finding more and more that I like the look of sneakers with almost everything. And of course, like most New York women, about 75% of the time I'm in all black... with occasional pops of grey, burgundy and green.
The environment around Kenneth Cole HQ is super casual- all the better for running around coordinating samples and making the trek to our 11th avenue office. I tend to favor dark denim and cozy sweaters with sneakers and simple jewelry, like studs from Alexis Bittar. And I never leave the apartment without my Shinola Birdy.
The Maje Jacket below (no longer available) was one of my favorite purchases from last year and is perfect for running errands and strolling around the city in the freakishly warm weather we had early winter this year. I love to rock this on my Saturday compost run with my favorite distressed denim from Blank and some sneakers
My cool-girl friend in the office is obsessed with reformation and after thoroughly stalking their site I plan to splurge on one of their dresses for my next formal occasion. Their silhouettes are flattering and well-priced, and most importantly, versatile, as I don't dress up very often.
I would likely pair a more formal dress with a slightly more casual sandal or heel, like my Luz sandals from Loeffler Randall. The heel heigh is just enough to flatter while you cut up the dance floor.
Handbags! I recently committed to a Musur Gavriel saddle bag that was one of the last few unites on Moda Operandi. I love the freedom of carrying this crossbody on the weekends instead of a giant heavy tote.
Like Mer, I skimp on t-shirts. I would love to be the person with 20 pristine alexander wang tee's neatly folded in a drawer but I just can't make them last! i also don't tend to splurge on bras, socks, or pajamas -- one day I aspire to be a fancy person that has nice neat things in all categories, even the ones seen by just a few.
